Dodge Ram Starter Replacement

How to replace the Starter on a Dodge Ram

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Starter change
I’ve seen a few videos on this and most aren’t very clear or they are hard to
understand in general. I hope this video can help. Both bolts I was talking
about are 15mm. This is a 2007 dodge ram 1500 big horn edition 4×4. This
should be the same thing for 2006, 2007, and 2008 models. I doubt other
models/years would be much different. Feel free to ask questions !

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Starter Location & How to Replace It
This video shows you the location of the starter and how to replace it on a
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 engine. The camera stop working towards the
end of the film so we finished it off with text. This Job takes around 1-2
hours to complete for the novice mechanic. Very easy.

How to diagnose & replace a bad starter motor
This video shows a step by step process that I used to diagnose and
replace an intermittently failing starter motor on my 1998 Dodge
Ram. Battery load testing and voltage drop testing are
demonstrated, to help rule out other causes that might appear
to be due to a bad starter motor.

Both battery load testing and voltage drop testing are dynamic
tests, putting the battery and wiring under active load to expose
very common hidden problems.

video of a partial starter motor autopsy, here
