How To Replace the Front Brake Pads on a Chevy Malibu
1A Auto shows you how to repair, install, fix, change or replace your own worn, squeaky, fading old front brakes. This video is applicable to 97, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, and 03 Malibu, 99 to 05 Grand AM, 99 to 04 Alero, or 97 to 99 Cutlass models. The procedure is basically the same for many front wheel drive front disc brake equipped vehicles.
In this video, I demonstrate how to replace worn out brake pads on a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. The initial complaint was some squealing noise from the brakes, after inspection I found that the pad contact points on the caliper mounting bracket were rusted and full of junk, so the inboard pad was severely worn out, while the outboard pad was almost brand new. So always remember when checking brakes to check BOTH PADS!
I am not responsible for any mishaps that may have occurred from following these procedures. I do this to help you, the car owner, and cannot assume responsibility for any problems. Please use this information to help yourself, good luck, and take care.
